What is your name and the name of your business?
I’m Louise Hamby, the Managing Director of Staff for Education.
Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
I’ve worked in education for over 25 years initially as a teacher, so I taught for about 14 years, and then decided that I wanted a career change and came into education recruitment. This lead to me taking the plunge to start my own business.
What does your business do?
We’re a recruitment agency for education staff, so we work with schools, colleges, nurseries within the education sector – we specialise there.
Do you like working for your business?
I love working for my business, it’s amazing, I love being my own boss. It’s really exciting because it’s just the beginning of this new venture.
What is your history at Mansfield Innovation centre?
I’m a recent member of the community, it’s brilliant having the support of the staff here, especially when setting up my first business.
How long have you been part of the community?
Only a few weeks, however I’ve worked here before setting up my own business.
What aspect of the centre do you enjoy the most?
Being part of the community and having that support, knowing that if there’s a problem I’ve got somebody I can go to. The staff are always so helpful and will do anything they can to support you and make sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Do you take advantage of our business support services?
I speak to David regularly, he’s amazing. I’ve worked with David since I started in education recruitment 10 years ago when I was employed as a consultant, and then further branch manager.
What are the next steps for your business? Do you have a 5 year plan?
I actually have a 2 year plan where I can more closely see the growth that I’m aiming for, of course working with schools during term times – we’re looking to grow our customer base and staff.
